Quince Cottage

Time to Relax

Guests staying at Quince Cottage are welcomed into a self-catering cottage that sleeps two to four people. The open plan cottage has a separate bedroom with a queen-sized bed and an en suite bathroom with a separate toilet. The mezzanine level has a single bed with an extra mattress available. Towels and bedlinen are supplied. The cottage has been designed to be a home from home. It has a fully-equipped kitchen with most of the basic necessities such as tea, coffee and spices. Guests only need to supply their own food.

The cottage has a beautiful fireplace and while it may not be used as an inside braai, a mobile outside braai is available that could be moved to the most convenient spot according to the weather. Two crates of wood are provided, and additional wood can be supplied at a small cost. The cottage has an open staircase and a dam very close to the front door and is therefore not suitable for toddlers or small children. The cottage does not have a television, but it does have Wi-Fi.

Things to do

The best thing to do when staying at Quince cottage is to relax on the stoep with a good book or enjoy the beautiful views. If you however do want to stretch your legs you may walk through the orchards and there are also two walking trails: The Discolor route is a short easy 30 minute scenic route while the Porcupine route asks for a bit more exertion and could take you 40 minutes or more to complete. Both trails have nice picnic spots. A picnic basket is available in the cottage.

One of the dams on the farm has black bass and you are welcome to do some fishing.

The last Saturday of the month we have a farmer’s market about 3 km away from Tamarak. You will be able to buy fresh bread, fruit and a variety of foods at the market. Visit the Farmers Market Facebook page for more information.
